Planning the Funeral
When someone dies, it can be difficult to know what steps need to be taken. The person who has died may have left instructions about the type of funeral they wished for. If the death was unexpected and no wishes were made known, you will need to decide what type of service you would like for your loved one.
We will provide assistance with all arrangements, from liaising with ministers, celebrants, humanists and crematoria, to helping you compile obituary notices for publication in your chosen newspaper or online, depending on your preference. We will also support you with the order of service, floral tributes, funeral receptions and any other arrangements you and your family may require.
At Wayne Kelly Independent Funeral Directors, we have extensive experience in creating highly personal funerals that honour your loved one and celebrate their unique life. There may already be a funeral plan in place to cover the costs; however, if not, we provide our fees upfront to help you make the most suitable choices when arranging a funeral.
There is much to take in at this difficult time, but things you may want to consider:
Is the service to be burial or cremation?
Is the service to be religious or non-religious?
Where and when will the service take place?
Are there particular pieces of music to be played?
Will there be charitable donations in memory of your loved one?
Would you prefer family flowers only?
Will you require an order of service?
Will there be an obituary notice in the newspaper?
How much will the funeral cost?
Will you want to visit the chapel of rest?
